Your commitment to innovation and education can live on for generations through a legacy gift to the American Precision Museum. By including APM in your estate plans, you become a member of the Mill Brook Society, a special group of supporters dedicated to preserving the history of precision manufacturing, expanding educational programming, and inspiring future generations to explore careers in engineering and advanced manufacturing.
A simple and meaningful way to support APM is by naming the museum in your will or living trust. You can designate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a residual gift after other obligations are met. This ensures your support continues to sustain our mission well into the future.
Sample bequest language:
“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath [dollar amount, percentage, or specific asset] to the American Precision Museum, a nonprofit organization located at 196 Main Street, Windsor, VT 05089, Tax ID #03-0218096, for its general use and purposes.”
You can name APM as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan. Retirement assets passed to heirs are often subject to income taxes, but by designating APM as a beneficiary, your gift is tax-free and fully benefits our mission. Simply request a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator and include APM as a primary or contingent beneficiary.
If you are 73 or older, you can direct a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to APM. This allows you to meet your RMD requirement while supporting the museum’s work, and it reduces your taxable income. Contact your financial advisor or IRA custodian to initiate a charitable rollover gift.
A Donor-Advised Fund is a flexible way to support charitable causes. By naming APM as a successor beneficiary of your DAF, you ensure that any remaining funds continue to support precision manufacturing history and education beyond your lifetime.
If you have included the American Precision Museum in your estate plans, please let us know! We would love the opportunity to express our gratitude and recognize your generosity. Your legacy ensures that APM remains a vital resource for generations to come.
