How did precision manufacturing spread through the nation?

This lesson uses the “Robbins and Lawrence Genealogy” as a focal point and asks students to review how individuals started companies that started companies.  You may choose to look at this from a geographical perspective, or the products that the companies made, or the individuals who founded small empires, or the environmental impact.
